In Memoriam

Rev. James L. Collom

The Rev. James L. Collom, 92, passed away peacefully at his home in Tucson, Arizona on July 2, 2009.  He was predeceased by his first wife, Emily Smith Collom and by his second wife, Gladys Sickel Collom.  He is survived by his four children; Jim and Marilyn (Bickford) Collom, Maridel and Arnold Chase, Miriam and Chuck Eby and Paul and Vicky (Lacey) Collom; four step-children; Georgeann Sickel, Joyce and Bob Brickley, Helen and Ed Rogan and Frank and Mary (Wright) Sickel:15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was born and raised in Georgetown, Illinois.  He graduated from Olivet Nazarene College and pastored Nazarene churches in Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Bermuda and New York for forty-three years.

He enjoyed fishing, wood burning, traveling and visiting with his large family.  Most of all he spent his life serving God and helping others

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5 at 2 p.m. in Phoenix at the Tempe Nazarene Church, 3929 S. Rural Rd, Tempe, AZ

Internment will be in Fishkill, NY.
